TV Shows

THere are some very cool TV shows lately that you can learn a bit more about rocks, minerals, the Earth, locations for collecting or mining, how-to's and a variety of other creative ways to have fun with this hobby.

Here are a few-

America Unearthed on H2. Saturdays at 9PM. Scott Wolter a forensic geologist and the president of the Minnesota-based American Petrographic Services. Scott Wolter began developing a new science called archaeopetrography–a scientific process used to date and understand the origins of mysterious stone artifacts and sites. Prospectors on Weather Channel. Sunday evenings. Folks like us, climbing around in the Colorado mountains looking for some beautiful gems. Check out the episode where they granted the wish of a young fellow through the 'Make A Wish' foundation.

Gold Rush on Discovery and On Demand. Fridays at 9PM. Get to see what's really involved in gold mining. It's not always pretty, and tempers can flare. Check out Granpa Schnabel and his grandson Parker, how one generation teaches the other.
